What ReefGo collects

Nothing. ReefGo has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not run a server that receives your data.

Location

If you allow it, your phone's location is used once to center the map on your coast. It is not stored by ReefGo and never leaves your device except as part of the forecast request described below.

Forecast requests

To show conditions, ReefGo asks public weather services for the forecast at the map position or reef you tap. These requests contain coordinates and go directly from your phone to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), the US National Weather Service (api.weather.gov), NOAA CO-OPS tides (tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov), NASA GIBS imagery (earthdata.nasa.gov) and the map tile servers of Esri. Each service has its own privacy policy. ReefGo does not add any identifier to these requests.

Settings on your device

Your boat type, last map position, onboarding state and alert preference are saved in your browser or app storage on the device only. Delete the app or clear site data to remove them.

Notifications

If you turn alerts on, ReefGo asks your device for permission to show notifications. They are generated on the device when you open the app. No notification service or server is involved.

Children

ReefGo is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Disclaimer

ReefGo gives a forecast estimate. Conditions on the water can differ. It is not a navigation tool and does not replace official marine forecasts, charts or your own judgment. Fishing rules shown are a snapshot that can be out of date; the state agency's published rules apply.
